Note 3:          Comprehensive Income

Comprehensive income is the sum of net income and other items that must bypass the income statement because they have not been realized, including items like an unrealized holding gain or loss from available for sale securities and foreign currency translation gains or losses. For the 13 weeks ended September 30, 2017 and October 1, 2016, our comprehensive income is $733 and $1,094, respectively. For the 39 weeks ended September 30, 2017 and October 1, 2016, our comprehensive income (loss) is $5,040 and $(1,417), respectively. Our comprehensive income (loss) includes foreign currency translation gains and losses, and net loss attributable to non-controlling interest.
